Goofing around

I’m playing with a tablet for work and it came with Wacom pen functionality.  So I was goofing around with a logo idea for something new that I’m working on.  I like the tablet and sketch app, but it’ll definitely take some getting used to.  The hardest thing for me is that apparently I hold a pencil and a very shallow angle to the paper, the tablet/pen combination weren’t registering all my moves.  And I really didn’t like the smooth feel of the tablet screen under the stylus tip.  Definitely didn’t feel like paper.  I’d be tempted to put a screen protector on just to get a little drag and texture.

I like the idea though.  I’ll pass it on to someone much more skilled than I am and see what they can come up with.  If it turns out like I think it will, I’ll try to remember to post the finished product down the road.

Ideas

tax explainedA couple of months ago (yeah, yeah, I’m way behind) I had a business meeting with a neat guy.  When we did the business card exchange I got the raised eyebrow and had to explain what drawnonanapkin.com is.  Like so many tech guys, he does a great job of white boarding and explaining things visually and he was more excited about the idea of a website that captured ideas shared on the back of a napkin vs. drawing on napkins for art.  He took a few moments and shared a tax concept with me on a small sheet of notebook paper and just because I was involved and it’s small format, I’m sharing the picture here.  Thanks for the drawing Dave!

Two-fer

So my friend who did yesterday’s napkin said he wasn’t doing anymore until I did a napkin of a recent network change at work.  But then he liked the way yesterday’s post was framed well enough that he gave me a freebie.  However, I felt guilty so I made mine and you guys benefit with a two-fer.  Mine is a drawing that I had to generate to show folks how we were going to fix a problem.
